Who do i teach?

Anyone who would like to learn a brass instrument is welcome to come for a lesson with me.

I teach all brass instruments, (specialising in trumpet.)

Everyone is welcome!

Where do i teach?

I am based in Belper and that is where i usually teach. I also work in various schools within the Derbyshire area.

What is my teaching ethos?

I believe everyone is different and learns differently so i try and adjust my teaching methods to  the way each student learns best. I try to accommodate what each pupil/parent of the pupil wants to focus on whether that is working through the grade system (ABRSM/Trinity etc), or simply playing for fun and improving their playing without the pressure of exams. Making learning a positive experience is my top priority!

Why do i love teaching?

There is nothing better in my opinion, than seeing someone improving and being able to do things they once thought to be impossible. Music allows us to express ourselves in a positive way and teaches us how to stay motivated and disciplined to reach our goals.

Overall, I just love making music, and passing on the skills I have learned gives me so much joy!

What qualifications do i have??

Bmus (Hons) Royal Northern College of Music

Licentiate of Trinity College London Diploma

Associate of Trinity College London Diploma

Trinity Grade 8 Distinction

(all above on trumpet and doubling instruments.)

ABRSM Grade 8 Trombone Distinction
